Balut
“You’ve never eaten balut?” – but how can it be.. You are Filipino. My friends always ask me in dismay when such a topic comes across.
I have seen a lot of YouTube posts showing Western bloggers showcasing balut.. so should I say 'Bhaloot' with an American accent?
I have to admit, growing up in the Philippines, I almost took the plunge but decided not to do it at the last minute to the dismay of my friends. :)
I can still remember the harsh words as if it were yesterday. "haha you chicken!!"
I felt like I committed a mortal sin but it is what it is.
So after keeping this secret for so long, I want to confess I’m a Filipino but I’ve never eaten balut.
Kayo ba? You guys like balut? Parang hindi ko talaga kaya.......
